Insurance Requirements for Mountain Bike Racing and Events in Ontario
The OCA will continue to
promote
and offer a full UCI Licence for dedicated racers, and a Citizen
Permit for Citizen Events, Citizen Series, Citizen and Try-an
-Ocup categories at Points and O-Cup races. Everyone contributes
to the insurance pool based on their level of racing to insure
that racing remains affordable for everyone.

1. UCI Licence
Required for anyone racing is a designate UCI cross country category or downhill in Ontario. This licence provides you all the benefits of being a member of the Ontario Cycling Association and will allow you participation to any Provincial, National or International Race governed by the UCI.
2. Citizen Permit / OCA
General Membership
The citizen permit provides insurance for a full season of racing, and membership to the Ontario Cycling Association including all mailings and information. Many mountain bike riders will find this membership is all they need.
Allows you to participate in any of the following events/categories:
1) Citizen or Weekly Race Series
2) Citizen Events including enduro and general events.
3) Citizen Relay events including 24 hour, 12 hour, and 8 hour races.
4) Try-an-Ocup Citizen races at any Ontario Cup Race. These are non-age group citizen categories that race behind the licenced age groups.
5) The following Ontario Cup 9am Categories including Cadet Sport Men, Junior/Cadet Sport Women, Minime Men, Minime Women, Peewee Men, and Peewee Women.
6) Autumn cyclocross races
Citizen Permits
will be available at Hardwood, the OCA, or any other OCA Citizen
event.
3. One Day Permits
$12 for Ontario Cup Ontario Cup and Regional Races. Max 3/year
$8 for Citizen Events and Citizen Series*. Max 3/year
